Dust off your faerie wings and take out your wands...

A Midsummer Show & Party.

This months blog is a literal feast for the eyes!
I'll give you a tour of the wonderful
"A Midsummer Night's Dream" show

held at Fusionglass Co.s gallery in La Mesa
June 22nd - July 23rd.

For the Show Opening and Artists Reception on June 22nd
faeries flew in from all around to join in the fun and frivolity.
My sister arrived from Ireland for the occasion this year,
she decided to take a plane and saved her faerie wings for the big night!

Me with my sister Mandy, resting our wings!

The Midsummer show is a grand celebration of local artists.

We had Painting, collage, scratch board art, textile art, sculpture, pastels,
and of course Fusionglass co. always has some gorgeous new jewelry pieces.
We recently discovered our lovely neighbors

and invited them to come and show us what they were made of!
6 ladies from the association took up our challenge,
and brought us some incredible work.
They are:

Deczynski, Loretta: Colored Pencil/Watercolor

 Johnsen, Betty: Watercolor/pen/ink

McClure, Carol:  Scratchboard

Ross, Hazel: Collage/Oils

Teincuff, Carolyn: Pastels

Waters, Jean: Abstract Collage

we also had the following fabulous talent on show:

Ballyntyne, Tia: Collage

DeLong, Vicky, Clay artist/sculptor

Vicky DeLong

 DORIA: Textile art

 Zappoli, Anna: Oils

Dan Adams, Anna Zappoli & friend.

In the foreground in the above photo are two paintings gifted to Paul and I from the artist Anna Zappoli. We are both hanging them in pride of place in our homes. Anna is such a beautiful spirit and a wonderful artist. I will do a future blog about our trip to her amazing home/studio.

Limited edition pendants.

Local artist Joy Lilly just started making these delightful gift boxes,

available at the gallery to add some bling to your gifts!

Art, music, dance, food, & wine were the order of the evening.
Everyone was delighted to be entertained by the very fun and vastly energetic

Moreton Bay Figs Morris Dancing Team.

The jingling bells on the dancing costumes really added a wonderful festive air to the show.

Burlesque dancer and founder of the "Pink Boombox Revue"

Lilly Holiday

was here to WOW everyone with an amazing performance and
a fabulous rendition of the Famous, ... or infamous "Fan Dance"
You can catch Lilly's show every 4th Thursday at "The Brass Rail" in Hillcrest.

Lilly Holiday in full swing!

Author, Sherrie Rabinowitz stopped by in the afternoon for a quick pic.
Kids Craft Expert Cecile Fleetwood, entertained the kids in the afternoon with some fun faerie crafting.

During the evening event our beautiful "Faerie Fusionettes" offered color co-ordinated limited edition pendants to the party goers. The pieces were made by Paul just for the event.  I created their Faerie dresses and wreaths from old wedding dresses. But that's another blog in the making!

The Faerie Fusionettes with Paul Fernandes

Creative in the extreme many of our party goers really get serious about making
this event a costume extravaganza! It is literally a feast for the eyes. There are no prizes for the costumes, they're just fun to create and wear.
And now here's a small taste of the event!
